Ben and Lauren Hughes are happily married and have 3 wonderful and talented children: Jonathon (20) plays guitar & bass, Trey (17) plays drums & guitar and Maddie (11) plays piano & guitar, sings and creates beautiful artwork too.
Ben and Lauren are both active members at Boones Chapel Church and aim to serve God by sharing the gifts & talents that He has blessed them with.
Lauren specializes in the area of visual arts..both creating and teaching. She is a self taught artist and professional muralist of over 20 years during which she has hand painted colorful wall murals and canvas art for schools, businesses and homes thoughout Alabama. She teaches after school art lessons in her home studio (the Art Factory) weekly in order to encourage and inspire future artists. ,
She is experienced with pencil, pastel, clay, paper mache', mosaic tile, all types of paints, inks, dyes and more.
Lauren teaches art to K4-12th grades at East Memorial Christian Academy and loves it... This will be her 4th year with EMCA.
Young people from all over are welcomed at the the Art Factory...students from Wetumpka, Millbrook, Marbury, Clanton, Pine level, Prattville, Holtville, Autauga & Elmore Homeschools, Airport Road Intermediate, Coosada Elementary, EMCA, PCA, Victory, and Stanhope gather there! Wonderful friendships are being created ...at the "Factory"!
Ben is an accomplished musician that now enjoys teaching others to play music... He began playing guitar at a young age and fell in love with it. He is a self taught pianist and sings as well. At present he teaches weekly guitar and bass guitar lessons at the Art Factory and at The Guitar Lab in Wetumpka on Mondays. Ben was a member of the Soundsman quartet for over 8 years during which he sang bass and played lead guitar.
Ben is currently playing bass guitar at Boones Chapel Church and lead guitar with his friend, Pat, for local restaurants and private parties.
